CERVICAL CANCER Cervical can cer is a se rious health issue which affects hundreds and thousands of women every year. Many women lost their lives because of th is disease. When cancer starts in cervix it is called Cervical Cancer. Cervix connects the vagina to the upper part of the Uterus or womb where a baby grows during pregnancy. The main reason of increase in cervical cancer case is HPV (Human papillomavirus). It is a common virus that passes from one person to another during sexual interco ur se. Many people con tract HPV at some point in their lives but major strains of this disease can further lead to cervical cancer. The most important things one can do to help prevent this disease is to do screening tests and get HPV vaccines. Educating individuals about the importance of screening, quitting smoking and practicing safe sex and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can reduce the risk of cervica l cancer.
